Note 9 adjust camera brightness slider4/12/2023 ![]() Even when comparing it to the newer Snapdragon 636, which runs at the same 1.8GHz clock speed, the Snapdragon 450 is decidedly outdated, with a slow GPU and modem, and a less powerful image signal processor. The Stylo is powered by a Snapdragon 450 processor from 2017, and its age certainly shows. The Galaxy Note 9 (left) and the LG Stylo 4 both have hard-to-reach fingerprint sensors. However, while the progression is clear at the high end of the market, with the Snapdragon 821, 835, 845, etc., it’s a bit more muddled for low-end and mid-range phones. ![]() So, do we really need to spend $900 or $1,000 to get the best Android phone? Or to put it a other way: Is the Galaxy Note 9 really 400 percent better than the Stylo 4? Spoiled by speedĮver since the first Android phone arrived, we’ve been conditioned to expect a significant speed boost every 12 months. I didn’t scale back my use (in fact I set up the Stylo 4 from my Note backup), and while I’ll admit the Note 9 ran circles around the Stylo 4 in nearly every speed test, when you break it down, the two phones really aren’t all that different. And as I used the $250 handset (the cheapest Android phone I’ve used in some time) as my primary device for a fortnight, I began to see just how thin the lines between premium, budget, and mid-range phones really are. Lastly, again not sure if related but the hidden web browser that you can enable with the android function setting in the hidden menu also seems to disappear at some point after enabling it.But much like the difference between a Kia and a Ferrari, the Stylo 4 offers something the Galaxy Note 9 doesn’t: value. ![]() Maybe you can pass along to Codeage my post/info? Maybe Codeage can fix the auto factory reset problem, solving both camera adjustment and guidance volume problems at once. Again, not sure how often, but it seems like once a week I have to readjust the hidden guidance volume setting back to 11 for 56. ![]() Anyways, it seems that the head unit resets those settings every so often. I wish it could go higher, but 56 is adequate. Quick fix is to adjust the guidance volume setting in the hidden menu so that level 11 = max volume setting of 56. Anyone that uses CarPlay knows how quiet navigation is even with the setting at max/11. I noticed this with the guidance volume adjustment. On a similar note, my head unit does not save hidden menu settings more than a few days to a week. On other units just select RWC from the two listed items. If you see the screen above scroll down and select " Display Adjustment Mode" If you get a screen with just LWC and RWC select RWC to adjust the Rear Wide Camera. This will take you to this screen OR on some models a menu with just LWC and RWC options. Once you have that up select the bottom panel "Detailed information and setting" Keep in mind the return button can take you back a step at anytime and most of the advanced screens have a return button at the top also. It may take a few tries but once you press all three together the Diagnostic screen will appear. Use two hands, one just touching the volume knob and the other hand with the two fingers hovering over phone and brightness, then press the three at the same time. To do this you need to Press three buttons on the HU at the same time.ġ) Brightness (Bottom left button with moon symbol on it)Ģ) Phone (Left button typically the third one down)ģ) Power button (center button on volume knob) To Start you need to go into the Diagnostic mode of the 7" HU. You can adjust yours until you either get the best balance or for the conditions that you drive in most of the time. I adjusted mine at night for the best low light view as the daytime one is easy enough to see the details. You can follow these steps and adjust the settings, just keep in mind that a better day time picture setup might not deliver as good of a night time setup and vice versa. I have adjusted mine to get the best picture and found that the factory default settings were not optimal. I know a lot of people are not all that thrilled with the picture from the rear view camera and I agree that it is not as sharp as I would have liked it to be.
